While on my way downtown Victoria, a lady approached me in the street and politely said, “I don’t usually ask but I am having a hard time today and I wish to the take the bus to my friends, could you spare some money for a bus ticket?” She continued to apologize for asking, but I stopped her and said, “Okay, let me check if I have any change!” I had only a $5 bill in my pocket so I reached out and gave it to her! She was so grateful, I could see the tears coming from her eyes! She said, “I don’t need it all, only $2.50! Are you sure!” I told her I was a Christian believer and I gave it to her because of what Jesus has done for me! Her name is Miranda and she told me she was a believer and prays and thanks Jesus everyday! She told me nothing happens by mistake! I smiled and agreed with her and asked her if I could pray for her for healing and that Jesus will continue to meet her needs daily. We prayed together and also the Salvation prayer. Miranda was so grateful…
I also asked her if she would like me and other Christians to pray for her as the Lord leads. I shared with her about my church fellowship in Ontario who supports my cycling ministry and the many others who are following my blog. Miranda was so thankful and we praised Jesus together while embracing in a hug! She agreed to allow for the picture on the blog and was excited to know others will pray for her. I took a picture of her and assured her that Jesus has a plan for her life. I hope to see her again at the local outreach this coming Tuesday to fellowship and pray with her again. Miranda is asking for prayer for healing and strength. Blessings to you as you pray in faith!
The Prayer of Faith
Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.[a] 17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. 18 Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit.” James 5:13-18
