Evangelism Starts with Planting Seeds…

In the causeway of the Victoria harbour every summer you will find a wonderful group of artists that are selling their artwork. I had the pleasure of meeting Kathleen Lynch. She has been a 20 year veteran selling her beautiful water color paintings each summer as the tourists come to Victoria. I couldn’t help but stop and tell her how much I loved her work!

In our conversation, she asked me what I was doing for a living. I told her that I was studying to become an ordained minister. She was intrigued and immediately began to tell me how she was going to a United Church but how it closed down because of all of the covid restrictions…

I began to share the Gospel with her and she listened intently. About 5 minutes went by and customers came by and went but she wasn’t the least bit concerned. She was fixated on what I was telling her. “This is a really good what you are telling me, it really is good news”, she said. “That is why it is called the Good News gospel,” I replied.

She has some reservations about wanting to believe that God sent Jesus to die on the cross for all sinners. I asked if I could pray with her for any of her needs. She said yes and was grateful.

As a evangelist, it is my job to plant and water seeds. The apostle Paul addressed when he wrote to the Corinthian church, “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.  So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow” (1 Corinthians 3:6,7).

Please pray for Kathleen Lynch that the seed that was set will be watered and will grow!

Thank you very much Saints!
