Jesus is calling ALL sinners to come home!

Summer is a busy time in Victoria, BC for tourists and downtown is bustling with music and buskers. While out witnessing, I came across two young musicians sitting on the bench playing old time gospel/blues music. They were very polite and respectful young men playing and have a good time together.

I asked them to play a song for me and they did. Then we engaged in conversation. Isaac, the alto sax player asked me, “Do you live here?” “Yes I do,” I replied, “I came here on a bicycle trip across the US as a missionary 8 years ago!” He was intrigued. “That must have been really a great trip.” It assured him that is was.

I asked them if they believed in God. They said yes but had reservations about salvation and wanting to knowing Jesus personally. I assured them that knowing Jesus personally was the only way to go to heaven. Jacob, the guitar player, looked at me and nodded his head in agreement! I have just the song for you he told me in anticipation. This is what he sang:

Softly and tenderly (Song by Carrie Underwood)

Softly and tenderly
Jesus is calling
Calling for you and for me
See on the portals
He’s waiting and watching
Watching for you and for me
… Come home
Come home
Ye who are weary
Come home
Earnestly, tenderly
Jesus is calling
Calling “Oh sinner, come home”
… Why should we tarry
When Jesus is pleading
Pleading for you and for me
Why should we linger and heed not His mercies
Mercies for you and for me
… Come home
Come home
Ye who are weary
Come home
Earnestly, tenderly
Jesus is calling
Calling “Oh sinner, come home”
… Oh for the wonderful love he has promised
Promised for you and for me
Though we have sinned, he has mercy and pardon
Pardon for you and for me
… Come home
Come home
Ye who are weary
Come home
Earnestly, tenderly
Jesus is calling
Calling “Oh sinner, come home”
… Come home
Ye who are weary
Come home
Earnestly, tenderly
Jesus is calling
Calling “Oh sinner, come home”

After they sang, I applauded them for a job well done. This is your song, I told them!! Jesus is calling you, me and ALL sinners to come home to him to be set free of any sin! Make no mistake. Listen to the lyrics. Today is the day to receive Jesus as your Saviour and Lord!

Please pray for Jacob and Isaac to receive Salvation and for them to come to know Jesus personally.

“Behold, now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the Day of Salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2).

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 9:9-10).

Join me in a prayer of faith believing that every time Jacob and Isaac sing the Gospel song, “Softly and Tenderly”, that they will be reminded over and over again that they need to come to home to Jesus! Thank you dear Saints!
